Years ago when we would travel to the Phoenix, Arizona area for my wife’s cancer treatments, we’d often stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels. Nice, clean, comfortable. Nothing fancy except for the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies they would offer guests right around check-in time. The were pretty damn good chocolate chip cookies and we missed them when we returned home. About four years ago we came across the DoubleTree cookie recipe online and it’s been our go-to recipe for making chocolate chip cookies ever since. Be sure not to leave out the lemon juice.
Tonight my wife made a small batch for us and they were just as delicious as the first time. I had two and wanted another but restrained myself. You can bet I’ll be enjoying one with my morning coffee tomorrow.
