I’m making an effort to use my mandoline slicer more often. It’s a Börner V/Slicer that was highly rated at the time and on sale for a good price when I bought it a few years ago. I’ve avoided it like the plague since then because it scares me, and it’s kind of tricky getting it back in the box when you’re done using it. But no more. I’ve begun learning the correct way to use it without drawing blood. It’s simple and safe if you pay attention to what you’re doing. Potatoes work the best, I’ve discovered, so I’ve been eating a lot of potatoes. Pan fried with a couple sunny side up eggs on top is my favorite.
