Steak & Baked Potato

Too much red meat is not good for us. I love red meat but they say it raises our risk of getting certain types of cancer, it increases our risk of cardiovascular disease, and it contributes to having obesity. Knowing all that, you would think I’d cut back on eating it. And I have, actually. But what amount of red meat constitutes too much? Once a week? Once a month? I don’t know. I have red meat only occasionally, which for me is about once a week. And even then I feel guilty about it.

Red meat includes beef, pork, veal, and lamb, along with processed meats like bacon, hot dogs, lunch meats, sausage, and smoked meats. Just my bad luck that I’m a fan of six or seven of those, with beef (steak), bacon, and smoked meat being the big three.

So, more corn and green beans, less steak and smoked ribs.
